The Edinburgh College of Art Christmas Fair was today and these are the 4 card designs I made for our Illustration department stall. The pandas seemed to go down a treat and they've sold out so I think I'll make some more!

Fetch! (the screenprinted version)
This semester for our printmaking project I've been working on remaking this little book that I made last year as part of a 3-day brief. I've been wanting to screenprint it for a while so this "one-day-a-week" project seemed like the perfect opportunity! It has however taken over my life for the past few weeks. I'm happy I stuck with it now that it's finished! Unfortunately, I forgot to scan the best quality prints before I bound them into books but here are the ones I have scanned...
I have actually printed two versions of this book. In the other (sadder) version, the dog doesn't get its ball blown back to it in the end.

Bookmarks
Today, an exhibition featuring my work opens as part of The West Port Book Festival.
Each exhibitor was given a book at random from the second-hand book shop Main Point Books and was asked to produce an illustration and bookmark to go with it. My book was William Golding's The Inheritors (which I did not like...at ALL.)

Pop!
Here are the two illustrations I produced for our first proper brief in 4th year. We were each given a quote and then had to choose another ourselves then illustrate them in black and white.
Quote 1: "Other people are quite dreadful. The only possible society is oneself." - Oscar Wilde
Quote 2: "Any idiot can face a crisis- it is day to day living that wears you out." - Anton Chekhov

These are some initial studies of squirrels I have been drawing before I start illustrating a children's story which I have written.

This week's Illustration Friday word is "Sweater".

Illustration Friday: Reverse
This is my response to this week's Illustration Friday word- Reverse.
I took the approach of "reversed roles" and in my illustration the hunted fox has become the hunter.
