Colouring digitally
Today I've made my first attempt at digital rendering using my very clever new Wacom tablet!
IF: Teacher
This week I've been drawing these characters, called Rosie and Russell. I usually draw animal characters but I designed Rosie and Russell in my final year at ECA to show that I can draw child characters too. I wanted to use them for this week's Illustration Friday but the word "teacher" made it a bit tricky since they are too young for school! So the link might be a bit precarious but here is Rosie teaching Russell how to share!
Illustrate It
I have entered a
competition to illustrate a new children's picture book, called 'The Incredible
Chapore'. To enter I had to read the story (aimed at 3-7 year olds) and
design a front cover for it. Here is what I came up with...
The first round is decided by the public through online votes and a winner is then chosen by the judges from the three most popular entries.
You can read the story here: http://www.illustrateit.co.uk/story.html
...and VOTE for me here! (Please!): http://www.illustrateit.co.uk/gallery.asp
I'm 4th row, 3rd from the left :) Voting closes on August 26th!

Kitten drawings
I've been wanting to try out Promarkers for a while and recently got a few to see how I get on with them. These drawings of kittens were my first attempt and I think I'll be using them a lot more!

Katie's seasons/ Illustration Friday: Freeze
Katie in Winter
This illustration I made a few months ago popped into my head when I saw this week's IF word "freeze." (The colours have turned out awful on the IF website for some reason!) I then realised I hadn't posted any of the series it belongs to (blame the stress of Degree Show preparation), so here they are..!
