Something a little bit different that I've been involved in this year at eca is a collaboration between the Illustration department and students on the creative writing course at Edinburgh University. Each pairing had to come up with an illustration and text to tie in with the number 1762. My partner, the very talented Beth Sample, and I both came up with the idea of a girl in a boat under the stars and we each took it from there independently. This is the illustration that I came up with...
You can see the story that accompanies my illustration, Star Mother, as well as the other collaborations here: http://sites.ace.ed.ac.uk/1762/category/z-introduction/
All of the collaborations will also be made into a book. Details of that later!

Some more Little Bird characters
I've been making good progress with 'Little Bird' recently, amongst everything else that needs to be done in the final couple of stressful months of 4th year! Here are some of the other characters from the book... These guys have been really fun to draw!

Garden Birds screenprints
I decided as an extra project to do some more realistic drawings because this is something else I really enjoy doing. I drew some garden birds and decided to make them into screenprints. I've made individual prints of each bird and also posters with them all together and with each bird's name next to it. (Pictures of those to come later.) Some have been left black and white and others with limited colours just because I liked the way they looked at that stage! 43 layers later and here they are...!
Blue tit
Robin
Bullfinch
Blackbird
Chaffinch
Sparrow
Wren
I plan on making a colouring-in book for children with the black and white images and a natural history information book with the full colour ones. The prints are also available to purchase with or without a plain white mount.
